Tornadoes FC, places 13 Players on Transfer market

Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna, has placed about 13 of its players on the transfer market for poor performance and indiscipline.
The Technical Adviser of the club, Bala Mohammed told National Wire in Minna on Thursday that the players were largely responsible for the below the average performance of the club in the just concluded season, due to their high level of indiscipline.
This, he said, was contained in the end of the season reports submitted to the club management by the Technical crew, headed by coach Bala.
Coach Bala disclosed further that the club intends to sign only 30 players this season compare to the 40 it signed last season, saying that “last season we exhausted all over 40 players vacancies and when we discovered that we needed more players we could not sign again because the rules permits the signing of only 40 players.
“So this season we are starting with only 30 players so that when we need to make adjustment we can bring in more players”
The coach who is currently on a scouting mission to a Treasure talent hunt football competition organised by Treasure Football Academy in Kaduna said that the names of all the players submitted for lay- off was subject to ratification by the management which was yet to meet after the season.
When contacted, the Chairman of the club, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu confirmed the incidence but however argued that the management will soon meet to ratify the submission by the technical crew.
He said that the club was trying to establish a standard and bring in grade A players into the club next season, stressing that “we need to improve the club because the premier league is more completion”.
Aliyu further disclosed that the state government has given the assurance of adequate funding of the club next season, highlighting that the financial predicament the club went through in the just concluded season will be a thing of the past.
To this end, he said the state government will complete the ongoing renovation works at the Late Bako Kontagora township stadium Minna, to enable the Team return back to its home ground next season.
