Tinubu Hails Eko Club International at 25

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Eko Club International (ECI), the foremost global association of Lagos indigenes, as it marks its 25th anniversary this September.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, it was revealed how the President was instrumental to the idea that created the club during his time in exile and commended members for staying true to its founding vision of promoting harmony, good governance, and community development.

Tinubu applauded the club’s far-reaching impact over the years, citing its efforts in preserving Lagos’s cultural heritage, organising medical outreach programs, awarding scholarships to indigent students, financing skill acquisition, and supporting entrepreneurship.

With 25 active chapters across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Europe, the President noted that ECI’s remarkable growth and activities have positioned it as an organisation with lasting generational influence.

He urged members to reflect on past achievements while preparing for even greater contributions to society. The President expressed gratitude for their steadfast support and wished the organisation continued success and impact in the years ahead.
