Those Afraid Of Losing Re-Election Torched INEC Office-ADC

The Ogun State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon Idowu Adeleye has accused politicians seeking re-election as the mastermind behind the fire incident at the INEC office the early hours of Thursday.

In a release on Thursday, the party (ADC) stated that the fire incident was a deliberate attack by those who had lost hope of getting support of the public and had now chosen a desperate turn by burning down the INEC office in the attempt to destroy PVCs of newly registered voters.

“We (ADC) condemn in totality the new gimmicks of politically sponsored attacks on national infrastructure such as INEC.

“It is evident that those who have lost touch with the voters and failed to deliver on numerous campaign promises have chosen a new strategy to frustrate the conduct of a free and fair election and make it nearly impossible for newly registered voters participate in the coming election.

“These antics of torching INEC office have become the stock in trade for these indviduals who would rather cause mayhem and unrest across the state than accept the reality of defeat in 2023.

“We hereby call on the Director of the State Security Service (SSS) and the Inspector Genral of Police to investigate and arrest those hoodlums and their sponsors at the helms of affairs,” the statement reads.
