Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu has been arrested in Israel where he currently plays for a club side, Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

The Nigerian was alleged to have been drunk while driving.

The implications of driving under the influence of alcohol in Israel include having the offender’s driver’s license suspended for 30 days and Ogu was not spared.

According to Israeli publication ONE, the Nigerian was arrested on Friday when he failed a routine alcohol test after being waved down by the police.

His club is expected to sanction him for the unruly behaviour.

The Nigerian mid fielder who was based in Portugal had helped the Israeli club to the league championship back-to-back in the last two seasons.

According to him, he could have joined Spanish club Real Betis in January but his club blocked the move
