Some churches receive illegal proceeds from members – NADECO chieftain, Opadokun

A NADECO chieftain and rights activist, Mr. Ayo Opadokun has lamented that the Nigerian Church has ceased to be a change agent.

Opadokun, a lawyer and chieftain of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere made the statement after the dedication of the New First Baptist Church, Offa, Kwara State where he was a guest recently.

According to him, some churches receive proceeds of illegal transactions from their members without trying to probe the sources of their wealth.

He however urged Churches to stand for what the Lord Jesus stood for while he was physically on earth.

The Afenifere Chieftain also advised the government to take loans to complete some Federal projects started by previous administrations.

Opadokun said, such loans must be directed towards providing essential and needed amenities like good road and rail networks that would definitely boost the economy.
