Shell Nigeria Plc builds Blocks of Classrooms, Toilets for Primary and Secondary Schools at Ado- Odo Ota

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, (CSR) Shell Nigeria Plc, has built Five blocks of Classrooms for Ewupe, Ijaliye and Sorosi Communities in Ado- Odo Ota Local Government of Ogun state.

The OIl/6as giant, also rehabilitated another 19 Classrooms as well as Constructing Five Toilets for the African Church Community Secondary School and Ebenezer ‎African Church Primary School in the three communities of the Council Areas.

At the Commissioning and the handing over ceremonies of the Projects which took place at Ewupe recently, the Company’s Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Toyin Adenuga, said the gesture was part of the company’s Corporate Social responsibilities to the afore mentioned.

National Wire gathered that Shell Nigeria Plc’s Gas is located at Ewupe community in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government of the state.

The State’ H‎on. Commissioner of Education. Mrs. Modupe Majuro, who commended the Company’s Management and staff for their humanitarian gestures to the rural communities, while she enjoined other Corporate Citizens and we’ll meaning individuals in the state to borrow a leaf from the company with a view to contributing their quotas to the development of the state.

She stated further that government should be supported both in cash and kind to provide social amenIties to the people ,arguing further that government alone cannot do it as a result of very scarce resources at its disposal following the on going economic recession in the country.

Meanwhile, In attendance at the well attended occasion was the Chairman, Community Development Co-operatives, ‎Alhaji Monsuru Akande, in conjunction with other community leaders, who expressed their gratitudes to the Company for coming to their aides and alleviating their problems at this critical period of economic recession in Nigeria.
