Road Crash kills 11 Persons in Niger

No fewer than Eleven persons were  confirmed dead when a trailer loaded with livestock collided with an 18- seater  commuter  bus returning from Lagos at Makera community in Mokwa local government area of Niger state.

The accident occurred at about 3.30am on Tuesday   around Mokwa-Makera road of the state just as nine persons were confirmed dead on the spot.

It was gathered that two other  victims who were rushed to the Mokwa General hospital were confirmed dead by medical Personnel at the hospital later in the afternoon.

It was further gathered that the Toyota Hiace bus marked :FST 325 YE which was said to be heading towards Kaduna State allegedly  had a head on collision with the Volvo Truck conveying live cows qnd with registration number:  EKY 869 XE was said to have  left Kudu for Mokwa before the unfortunate incident occurred

The  FRSC Sector Commander, in Niger State, Mr. Kumar Tsukwam confirmed the incident in a brief interview with our reporter, saying, “that the cause of the crash was over speeding and fatigue.

He said, “22 peresons  were involved in the auto crash  which included  18 males , four females , and two children,  adding that 10 other  peresons  suffered varying degrees of injuries while 11 died amongst which were  seven males, two females , and two children.
