Reformed FSARS ‘ll Focus On Robbery, Kidnapping -IGP Team

The Inspector General of Police team on the reform of Federal Special Anti-robbery Squad (FSARS), says the new reformed squad will now concentrate on two major areas of crime fighting, which are robbery and kidnapping.
Mr Austin Gbaraba, an Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of operations in the force headquarters, who lead the reform team to Bayelsa State told newsmen in Yenagoa yesterday that due to the directive from the presidency for total overhauled of FSARS, the IGP Ibrahim Idris, has set all mechinaries on ground for the reforms.
ACP Gbaraba, who led other members of the IGP reform team to the state, said: “The new FSARS are streamlined to two major things,  the robbery and kidnapping, they will not be on the road, unless it’s necessary for them to be on the road block or check point.”
He said: “IGP has set up the hierarchy, from the DIG to CPs,  they are going to be involved, the new FSARS will be structured in various units such as operations, investigation and legal departments, so that we can we can confide ourselves to the limit of the law and what law directed us to do.”
He added that  the FSARS reform will also leads to decongest cells across the country, so that suspects detained unjustly will bail out.
