Three armed robbers were on Sunday morning arrested by men of the Nigerian police following a distress call from one Okafor Fidelis, of Amorji village in Agulu of Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The suspects were identified as Chibuike Allwell, 20,
Chiemena Uwuoba, 16, both natives of Abia State and Ileabuchi Chukwudi, 20, of Umuifite village, Agulu village.
The suspected robbers at the point of arrest, were armed with dangerous weapons with which they broke into the victim’s residence and stole N20,000.
The Anambra State Police Command Public Relations Officer,
SP Haruna Mohammed, who confirmed the arrest said, “Following the distress call about 12:28am, Police operatives attached to Neni division in conjunction with local vigilante group quickly responded and rushed to the scene.
Meanwhile, exhibits recovered in their possesions included the sum of N20, 000, One Axe, one cutlass, one knife, one spanner, two torch lights, charms and other incriminating items.
He reiterated that the case was under investigation after which suspects would be charge to court for prosecution
