The Niger State Police Command, has announced the rescue of the kidnapped Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in munya Local Government area of the state on Thursday evening.
In a statement by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO) SP Abigail Unaeze, the kidnapped Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and five others, have been rescued in the New Kabula forest within the locality of the Munya Local Government of the state by the Police Rescue Operation Team.
While appealing to the general public on the need to assist the security agencies with useful information , SP Abigail pointed out that the Command has already put in place sensitive security measures that will deal decisively with any form of security threats as well as identifying hide – outs of criminal elements across the state.
The rescued Police officer SP Amos Aliu was kidnapped last Sunday along with Five other Police personnel in Munya Local Government Area while on operational duty.
Meanwhile the state Commissioner of police, Mr Austin Iwero Agbonlahor who informed newsmen in a brief interaction that the alleged kidnappers were arrested, added that no ransom was paid to rescue the victims.
