The Commandant of the Police College, AIG Patrick Adedeji Atayero, and Directors in the Ministry of Police Affairs have signed a Ministerial Performance Contract with Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam.

The signing ceremony took place during the Sector-Wide Ministerial Performance Management System (MPMS) retreat at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.

He stated that the Ministry’s role is vital and that the performance of the Commandant and Directors directly impacts the Ministry’s overall effectiveness.

Gaidam warned that low performance can hinder the delivery of key projects that address urgent national issues and bolster economic growth.

He stressed that security is sacrosanct for economic growth and that the Ministry plays a pivotal role in the administration.

The Minister noted that the Performance Management System is a key pillar of the ongoing reform in the Federal Civil Service and that performance contracts must align with national priorities and presidential deliverables.

He emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to excellence and efficiency.

Facilitator Professor Adeyemi Ajayi highlighted the significance of the retreat in institutionalizing the Performance Management System, stating that the signing of the contract demonstrates commitment to the present administration’s vision and readiness to work towards achieving Nigeria’s transformation.

Director of Planning, Research and Statistics Dr. Osueke John Chidi emphasized the importance of the Performance Management System in assessing employee performance, meeting institutional goals, and fulfilling presidential mandates.

The signing of the performance contract underscores the Ministry’s commitment to delivering results and enhancing accountability.
