Police Arrest Three Suspects For Killing Suspected Motorbike Thief

The Kebbi State Police command has arrested three persons for killing a man for allegedly stealing their motorbike.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the command on Friday, SP Nafi’u Abubakar said the suspects: Abubakar Ahmed, Ubaidu Ahmed and Halilu Ahmed of Badariya area, Birnin Kebbi, had on the 19th September, 2022 about 0400hrs, conspired and went to the residence of one Sanusi Abubakar, of the same address and demanded from him to call his younger brother named Abbas Abubakar aka Zabi for them.

It was learnt that they had suspected him to have stolen their motorcycle, a Haojue Roba-Roba.

It was revealed that when Abbas Abubakar was called, the suspects took him to their house, and later tied him with a rope and beat him to coma.

Having had their way, beating him to stupor, about 1430hrs, the suspects took the victim: Abbas Abubakar in their motor vehicle to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Birnin Kebbi.

Having seen the condition of the victim, they were instantly arrested while Abbas Abubakar was rushed to Sir Yahaya Memorial hospital, Birnin Kebbi, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

In the light of the above, SP Abubakar reiterated that the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi state Command, CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora has directed the DPO to immediately transfer the case to SCID, Birnin Kebbi for thorough investigation with a view to unravelling the circumstances surrounding the dastardly act.
