Barely two days after the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Burutai ordered the Nigerian troop to arrest the leader of the terrorist group; Boko Haram, Ibrahim Shekau, the Police in Kano State have arrested five suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Gayawa village of Ungoggo Local Government Area of the state.
Kano State Police Commissioner Rabi’u Yusuf on Sunday confirmed the development while addressing the press in Kano.
The Police officer revealed the suspects were rounded up early hours of Sunday in a gun battle between his men and the terrorists.
He said the five suspected members of the terrorist gang were made up of two women and three men who were all arrested.
The Police Commissioner stated that the arrest was possible through intelligence report.
“ The hide-out of the suspected terrorists was raided by a combined team of the Police Anti Robbery Squad, the Special Tactical Force and undercover operatives of the Command at Gayawa Village in Ungogo Local Government Area of the state,” Yusuf explained.
