Police Arrest, Drags Man To Court For Defiling Daughter

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Ede Tyndale for allegedly defiling his daughter at Ikotun, a Lagos suburb.

It was gathered that the father has been sleeping with the 19 years old girl (name withheld) since when she was 11 years old.

The bubble bust when the mother of the girl, a 45 years old woman reported the husband to the police at Ikotun Police Station that her husband has been commiting incest with the daughter.

According to Police Situation report, the woman had gone to report the case on 09 May, 2020 at about 1430 hours at Ikotun Police Station that her husband, Ede Tyndale, 50 years old of Kajola Street, Ikotun was committing incest with their 19 years old daughter.

The woman’s decision to go to the police was informed when noticed some strange behaviours from her daughter and decided to find out why the sudden disrespect towards her father.

It was disclosed that when she girl decided to open up, it was realised that her husband had started having sexual intercourse with the daughter when she was 11 years old and each time he did, he often threaten to kill her if she refused to allow him have sex with her.

The girl further reiterated that the father was so persistent threatening her to the extent that she found it difficult to disclose her predicament to anybody not even the mother for fear of been killed.

Based on her confessional statement, Mr Ede was arrested by detectives from the Family Support Unit and has since confessed to the commiting the crime.

After a thorough investigation into the case, the suspect was charged to the Chief Magistrate Court ll Ogba on a-five-count charge of incest, rape, sexual harassment, defilement and sexual assault.

The suspect has been remanded at the Police custody while the case has been adjourned to the 15 June, 2020 for hearing.
