“Petroleum Industry Christian Fellowship Holds Prayer Summit”

A professional Christian group, the Petroleum Insdustry Christian Fellowship International (PICFI) has concluded arrangements to hold its annual national prayer conference 2021.

The event which will also be streamed live on the group’s social media platforms is scheduled to hold between 30th September and 3rd October at Lasmall Hall, Rumukalagbor, Elekhahia, Port-Harcourt, River State. It shall attract members of the fellowship from various locations.

According to the plans, anointed ministers of God shall facilitate sessions along the theme of the prayer conference, ‘Rejoice Evermore,’ taken from I Thessalonians 5:16.

National President of the group, Brother Kayode Adeboye revealed that the first day of the convention would feature an outreach.

“As part of our annual National Prayer Conference is the visit to the orphanage and old people’s homes to provide gift items as well as fellowship with them,” Adeboye said.

He stated further that, “This usually happens on the first day of the conference as leaders of the fellowship arrive early for the visit prior to the official opening ceremony of the conference.”

The PICFI is an interdenominational Christian organisation made up of Christians working in both the international and local oil and gas companies in Nigeria.

The organisation has the vision to establish the kingdom of God in the petroleum industry, improve its performance, advocate just and equitable distribution of its associated wealth for social change and nation building.

As part of its social responsibilities, the group also offers scholarships to students in Nigerian public universities in relevant disciplines.

According to the Facebook page of the group, its scholarship scheme offers support for students in the Sciences, Applied Sciences, Engineering/Engineering Technology, Mathematics, Law, Economics and Accounting.

Prospective beneficiaries must be a full time year one students of any Nigerian federal or state university at the time of application.
The prospective students who must not be above 25 years old must also have a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 3.5 and must not be on any scholarship at the time of application.

Meanwhile prospective students must await call for entry from the group before any application and must disregard any unofficial call from the organisation in order to avoid impersonation.
