The Petroleum products retail outlet owners association of Nigeria(PETROAN), Bayelsa state chapter has tasked the Yenagoa Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture on inclusive partnership for the economic advancement of the state.
The state chairman of PETROAN, Mr West Dukumor gave the charge in Yenagoa at the weekend while speaking with Journalists shortly after giving his goodwill message at the investiture ceremony of Dr James Neminebor as the 4th President of the Yenagoa Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Mines(YECCIMA).
He decried the absence of his association’s members in YECCIMA, alleging that it was due to the non-inclusive operational tendencies of the latter’s former leadership style in the state.
This was just as he called on the new leadership of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Mines to synergize with all spheres of commercial operators for the rapid socio-economic transformation of the state.
The Bayelsa PETROAN helmsman who represented its national president, Dr Billy Gillis-Harry who also doubles as the South-South President of the coalition of chambers of Commerce and industries, however described the new YECCIMA President as a capable hand.
He noted that he has the conviction that Dr Neminebor would leverage on his many years of experience and services in the chambers of Commerce and other professional bodies to better the lot of the state in the economic sector.
In the same vein, Mr West has assured that his association would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that its members continue to render their best of services to Bayelsans.
The association’s boss who also bared his mind on the alleged proliferation of petroleum sales outlets across the state revealed that though members of his association are basically involved in the retail of Petroleum and gas products, it is not their duty to give approvals and licences for the establishment and ownership of the sale outlets operated by various retailers, hence the association has not faulted in terms of providing its services to the public, noting that approvals for cites and location of such outlets is the duty of the down stream regulatory agencies of the Federal government.
