Path To Operational Efficiency: Commander TRADOC Emphasizes Regular Training For Personnel

The mantra that military personnel need to train more in peace time and bleed less during war time was reemphasized on Friday as the Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Nigerian Army (NA), Major General Kelvin Aligbe advocated for regular and constant training of officers and soldiers of the force.

He noted that the only passport that could guarantee optimal performance and improve operational proficiency was enhanced constant training.

Maj Gen Aligbe spoke during the closing ceremony of the “Combined Mid-Year Courses Appraisal Curriculum Harmonization Workshop Research and Development Conference 2023” which took place at the Headquarters, TRADOC NA, Minna in Niger state.

In a press statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, (ADDPR), General Aligbe explained that “Training remains paramount to the Nigerian Army in the discharge of its constitutional duties.”
The conference was aimed at capacity building of personnel for optimum performance and professionalism in the NA training institutions in consonance with international best practices.

According to the Commander, the conference has created enabling environment for interaction and brainstorming that would promote and enhance learning.

The conference attended by all the commandants of Nigerian Army Training Institutions as participants, were urged to take lessons learnt to their various schools and develop curriculums that would aid NA operations.
While commending the Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen Taoreed Lagbaja for approving logistics for the conduct of the event, Gen Aligbe thanked the facilitators, moderators and
discussants for bringing in their expertise to bear during the conference.

In his appreciation remarks, the Acting Director Training Headquarters, TRADOC, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Mbaka observed that the five days training has afforded the participants the opportunity to learn new skills that would assist them develop a quality curriculum for the Nigerian Army training institutions in line with global standards.
