In its bid to identify with vulnerable people in the society, OVL foundation has paid a courtesy visit to two orphanages in Lagos and Ogun States.
The organisation duly registered in Nigeria seeks to empower vulnerable people in Africa. The visit is part of the organisation’s Rekindling Hope Initiative which seeks to provide charity donation, health sensitisation and skill acquisition program for under-privileged Africans.
The orphanages visited include Home of God Grace Orphanage Agbowa, Epe, Lagos State and Future Hope Orphanage Home, Ogun State. The visit was part of the foundation’s activities to champion sustainable development.
Speaking on behalf of the Foundation, the Ag. Executive Secretary of the OVL Foundation, Mrs. Oyinlola Scott-Igbene, explained that the orphanage home visit is one of the programs of the Foundation as it is set to accomplish the objectives of putting a smile on sad faces especially women, widows, orphans and the less privileged in the society.
According to the organization, the visit is also aimed at giving the less privileged a sense of belonging in order for them to realize they are loved and that the organization cares for them to lead economically productive lives necessary to break free from the shackles of poverty, stagnation and retrogression.
The visit also witnessed a health sensitisation session with the management of the homes, acquainting them with the importance of cleanliness as well as healthy living in the society which play a vital role in an individual’s daily live.
Basic standards for personal hygiene, such as: hand washing before eating or covering of mouths when coughing, or setting a standard for environmental cleanliness, effective cleaning as the first line of defense against viruses and infectious diseases were also highlighted.
Mr. Victor Laniyan also appreciated the management of the orphanage homes, thanking them for their perseverance thus far in the line of duty. He also described their acts of kindness as a divine calling that can only be appreciated by God.
“At OVL foundation we are committed to helping women and children live to their full potential by creating access to education and economic empowerment,” he said, adding that, “As a development organiation, we are dedicated to benevolent services to humanity, especially the poor and vulnerable across Nigeria.”
OVL Foundation is an organisation that empowers women and young people in Africa to lead productive lives needed in breaking free from the shackles of poverty.
