Over 60 Bandits On Motorcycles Invades Madaka Community In Niger State

Armed Bandits numbering over sixty riding on motorcycles have invaded Madaka and neighbouring communities in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State on Wednesday.
The unidentified gunmen,  it was gathered attacked the communities at about 6:00 am Wednesday shooting sporadically, thereby causing pandemonium amongst the people of the embattled communities .
A source from the area told the National Wires,  that no fewer  than 100 live cattle were rustled and countless number of villagers kidnapped in the operation.
According to the source, “those kidnapped by the bandits were being used as shields in their escape efforts.
“As they were shooting, they (bandits) are heading towards Allawa  forests in Shiroro Local Government area of the state.
“We cannot say if there are any casualties or death until after the situation has returned to normal, ” the source added.
He however confirmed to our reporter that, “the Nigerian Air Force personnel were swift in attending to our distress calls because right now, we can see their helicopters hovering in the air to get the bandits”.
Efforts to get the Chairman of Rafi Local Government Council,  Alhaji Ismaila Isa Modibo, for comment was howerver not successful, as his cell phone was switched off.
As of  the time of filing this report, all efforts to get the Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State Police Command, DSP Muhammad Abubakar to comment on the matter proved abortive as he could not be reached on his cell phone on Wednesday.
