One Dies, As Fully Loaded 33,000 Litres Truck Falls

A tanker loaded with 33,000 litres of PMS has fallen at Alaba express along Oshodi-Apapa expressway after losing control, killing one person.

According to Fderal Road Safety Corps Public Education Officer,
Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi, in a statement on Tuesday night, said a motorcyclist who got trapped under the fallen loaded tanker, was killed and his remains has been retrieved.

However, the content of the tanker is safe as officials of the Lagos State Fire Service have prevented it from engulfing in flames while LASEMA was making frantic effort to recover the tanker off the road.

In order to prevent fire disaster, officials of FRSC, Nigerian Police and LASTMA have cordoned off the entire axis while ensuring that traffic flow is maintained until total recovery of the tanker is carried out.

Meanwhile, motorists are, therefore, advised to obey the traffic management agencies or seek alternative routes.
