Olofin Of Isheri, Oba Bamgbade Ayodele III Decorates Promoted Army Officer, Friend

The dictum that says: “a friend in need, is a friend indeed” played out on Thursday as His Majesty, Olofin of Isheri, Oba (Engr) Sulaiman Adekunle Bamgbade Ayodele III, left his palace to decorate a promoted Lieutenant Colonel in the Nigerian Army.

His friend and former colleague, Lieutenant Colonel Ovie Akise, who wears the new rank at the Nigerian Army Education Corps Headquarters in Yaba, was the coursemate of the Olofin.

In a statement from the office of the Media and Publicity, Palace of Olofin of Isheri, Adimula of Awori Kingdoms, said the Guest of Honour at the decoration ceremony, His Royal Majesty thanked the newly promoted officers for their dedicated service to the nation during these challenging times.

The attendees included the Commander of the Nigerian Army Education Corps, represented by Brigadier General Dike, and the Commander of the Nigerian Army Library Services, Brigadier General T. Mohammed who had previously been Olofin’s teacher.

Additionally, several other senior military officers graced the occasion.
