Niger State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello on Friday described the victory of Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governor-elect of Edo State as a reward for dedication and commitment to service by the ruling party in the state.
Gov. Sani Bello in a congratulatory message to the governor-elect said the victory of Obaseki at the polls was a testimony that the people of Edo State appreciated the developmental progress recorded in the state in the last 8 years.
The message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, the Niger State governor advised the governor-elect to ensure that he build on the solid foundation already laid by Gov. Adams Oshoimhole by taking the state to the next level.
“I want to congratulate Mr. Godwin Obaseki, Edo State governor-elect and Philip Shaibu deputy governor-elect on their victory at the just concluded governorship election in the state. Your track record as a seasoned technocrat and your antecedents as an astute administrator must have informed your choice by Edo people.
“Your emergence at the polls as the governor-elect in the keenly contested election was a testimony of the confidence the people have in you, as a team player whose contributions to Edo state development are outstanding.
“As the people have willingly and massively gave you the mandate, I advised you to build on the good foundation laid by the out going Comrade-Governor Adams Oshiomhole- led administration and ensure that Edo State is taken to the next level’, he stated
He also enjoined them to live- up to campaign promises of ‘EDO PEOPLE: Let’s GO Further, Together’, and APC Manifesto of Relief, Recovery and Reform, urging them to be magnanimous in victory.
“ I urge you to live up to your vision of building ‘a modern and progressive Edo state where every citizen is empowered with opportunity to live life in its fullness.’ Above all, you must realize that you are now governor of all, irrespective of political, ideological, religious and ethnic differences.”
“I also want to congratulate the Comrade-Governor and the people of Edo State for the success of the election and I urge you all to support governor-elect for the state to get to the next level’, he maintained ”
