After two days of deprecation, activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) reversed two days of losses in last week of September, by closing positive on Wednesday September 27, 2017 with an increase of 0.44 percent, bringing the year to date return to 30.62 percent.
The All Share Index closed at 35,103.40 against the previous close of 34,951.27 while Market Capitalization closed at N12.101 trillion against previous close of N12.048 trillion. Volume traded decreased by 72.74 percent from 500.300 million to 136.404 million.
While the total value of stock traded decreased by 64.95 percent from N3.621 billion to N1.269 billion in 2,860 deals. The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 97.006 million shares exchanged for N0.578 billion.
Industrial Goods came next with 21.131 million shares traded for N0.143 billion, Consumer Goods, Conglomerates, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart. Jaiz Bank Plc, Meyer Plc, FBN Holding Plc, Diamond Bank Plc and Access Bank Plc were the most active stocks by volume.
Champion Breweries Plc, Neimeth Pharmaceutical International Plc, Linkage Assurance Plc, Fidson Healthcare Plc and C&I Leasing Plc emerged the highest price gainers table. while Morison Industry Plc, UAC Property Plc, University Press Plc, Caverton offshore Plc and AG Leventis Plc topped the losers table. In all 98 companies shares were traded with 24 gainers and 22 losers. 52 companies share price did not change at the close of business.
