A widow on Thursday kissed death after she was robbed of N47,000 and pushed off from a moving car in Lagos.
The unnamed woman was said to have boarded a private car with two occupants and was heading to the market early in the morning at Alagbado area along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway before the incident.
It was learnt that her cry and rolling on the ground drew the attention of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command who approached her and inquired what the problem was.
The woman was said to have explained amidst sobs that she was a widow and was swindled of the sum of N47,000 by two passengers in a private cab she boarded to the market.
It was further gathered that she was going to the market when the criminals collected the money and pushed her out of the speeding car.
However, a good Samaritan later assisted her with the sum of N5,000 before the RRS team took her to Alagbado Police Station for documentation and investigation.
The police authority, however, warned commuters especially market women not to hop into any car but ensure that they take necessary precaution to minimize incidences of theft.
