Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft over the weekend, in a style resplendent of Father Christmas, hosted officers, friends to a grand reception tagged: “Christmas Dinner.”
The host, Commander NNS Beecroft, Commodore Kolawole Olumide Oguntuga welcomed all the guests warmly as every guest wore a ‘Merry Christmas’ hat during the dinner that held at the Western Naval Command, Officers’ Mess, Apapa.
The Special Guest of Honour was Rear Admiral JN Mamman.
In his welcome remarks, the President of the Mess Committee (PMC), Captain C Akokota, while welcoming the guests to the dinner noted that it was a way of appreciating their dedication, which also serves as an opportunity to unwind in a convivial environment after a laborious task.
The night was spiced by some beautiful cultural display from different groups especially the “Funny & Crazy” group from Ihiala.
Besides the razzmatazz that greeted the dinner, there were raffle draws where guests won different items and cash prizes.
Highpoint of the night was the gift received from Mama Santa by every officer of Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft.
Though it wasn’t a night for speeches, guests had so much fun, jollification and exchanged pleasantries in a colourful, memorable and unforgettable ambience.
