Nissan Appoints Former GE’s IT Expert As Information Officer

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the appointment of Anthony Thomas as its Chief Information Officer, Global IS/IT Nissan.
The appointment of Thomas takes effect from October 23,2017, according to a statement from Nissan today.
Before his new role, he was the Chief Information Officer at GE Global where he managed the digital and Information technology of that organisation’s markets outside the U.S. since joining in 2015.
Thomas will function from the Nissan’s headquarters in Yokohama,Japan and report directly to Nissan
CEO, Hiroto Saikawa.
Prior to joining GE Global, he held a number of key positions at companies such as Vodafone India Ltd., Citi and Ernst & Young LLP.
Nissan is a global full-line vehicle manufacturer that sells more than 60 models under the Nissan, Infiniti and Datsun brands.
 In fiscal year 2015, the company sold more than 5.4 million vehicles globally, generating revenue of 12.2 trillion yen, according to the statement.
Nissan engineers, manufactures and markets the all-electric vehicle, the Nissan LEAF.
Nissan’s global headquarters in Yokohama, Japan, manages operations in six regions: ASEAN & Oceania; Africa, Middle East & India; China; Europe; Latin America and North America. Nissan has been partnered with French manufacturer Renault since 1999 and Mitsub.
