Nigerian Army lady Wins Gold in Women Wrestling

It was a glorious weekend for Nigeria in faraway Morocco when a Nigerian Army Private, Gofit Winnie won a gold medal in the Women Freestyle Wrestling Competition in the African Wrestling Championships in Marrakech, Morocco.

Gofit clinched the gold in the 75kg as Nigerian Contingent continued to record successes at the on-going Championships.

Private Gofit is not new to success as she also doubles as the National Champion for Judo and Wrestling in the 75kg category.

Brig.-Gen. Sani Kukasheka Usman, Director Army Public Relations, said on Saturday in a statement that the Army Wrestlers formed part of the National Wrestling Team to the championship.
