Nigeria Set for World Record, To Train 5000 Female Students 

The Science Ambassadors Foundation in collaboration with the Faculty of Science, University of Lagos has announced that it will be organising science awareness training for 5000 female students in Lagos, Nigeria to place Nigeria on world map in the quest to revamp science education in the country.

 

The event scheduled for Thursday June 15 2017 by 10:00am prompt will hold at the Multipurpose Hall, University of Lagos.

 

 

With the topic: Developing STEMpreneurs for bridging the gap between town and gown in an emerging economy,

First Lady of Ogun State, Dr. (Mrs.) Olufunso Amosun is expected to declare the event open.

 

Other dignitaries expected include First Lady, Lagos State, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode and other dignitaries and invited guests.

The Country Director, SAF, Mrs. Nnabugwu C. P. “We are hoping to provide a right orientation for sciences and show the real deal about science and its applications in the industry.”

 

“We expect this event to be a catalyst that will forever remain in the minds of the participants, proving that Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics are the unifying factor for our national development.

We will be working with Tri-continental Limited, whose Group MD/CEO, Prof. Toyin Ashiru is excited to share life success and the process a Scientist requires to excel in entrepreneurship with the young stars.

With this we hope to make science a beautiful subject to our youths in order to churn out more scientists especially ladies from Nigeria and enhance the road map to our industrialisation.”

 

The Dean, Faculty of Science, University of Lagos in his remark said,

“We will also provide career advice and discuss the numerous opportunities being a scientist offers beyond the popular applied sciences such as Medicine or Engineering.”

The President, EDURAN schools, Dr. Odema affirms that the participation of EDURAN Schools is an indication of our strong passion to deliver the female gender from the series of abuses they have been exposed to. We are deeply committed to this noble goal.

 

The event will feature live experiment using Dalic Technology, a process used by Tri-Continental Ltd amongst others.
