Citing the governor’s infrastructure projects and other initiatives as proof of his performance, the IPAC in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Hon. Simeon Imomotimi, and Secretary, Pst. Peace Oruama hailed the governor for embarking on the construction of the three Senatorial road projects and others in the state.

IPAC said: It’s inline with the objectives guiding the activities of IPAC that we the members of the council in Bayelsa State hereby issue this statement on this auspicious occasion of the 65th Independence Day celebration of Nigeria which equally doubles as the 29th anniversary of the creation of Bayelsa State.

“Our cardinal objectives which most of us are already acquainted with seeks to promote unity and tolerance among all political parties, while striving to foster peaceful and cordial relationship between the State Government and political parties for the common good of all citizens of the state. This forms the basis of our statement which is an attempt to evaluate our democratic gains and challenges in the state since the inception of the 4th republic in 1999.

“Without mincing words, His Excellency Senator Douye Diri in our assessment stands tall and unmatched among the persons that have administered the State to this point in terms of infrastructural development. He has performed overwhelmingly well mostly in the provision of improved road network in the state. Governor Diri has also done tremendously and exceptionally well in health, social services, transportation sector, sports, education and numerous other sectors.

“In conclusion, IPAC wish to commend His Excellency for for a job well done in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of the state. However, like Oliver Twist, we appeal to His Excellency to do more by providing drinking water for Bayelsans, mostly those resident in Yenagoa and the LGA headquarters.

“This notwithstanding, we assure His Excellency of our full cooperation realizing that it’s only through our collective partnering that the dreams of turning our State into El dorado will achieved”.
