The Legal Services Department of Nigerian Exchange Limited won the Capital Market and Investment In–House Legal Team of the Year Award at the ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards 2021.
The General Counsel/ Head, Legal Services Department, Mrs. Irene Robinson-Ayanwale also won the General Counsel of the Year at the awards event held on Sunday 7 November 2021.
The ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards is a prestigious platform which projects the achievements of legal practitioners in the legal and business community. The awards aims to celebrate and recognize the role and importance of Lawyers, Legal Departments in companies, and legal professionals to businesses across Africa, and has become a highly coveted recognition by many companies and Law Firms in Nigeria.
In the past, the Legal Services Department and individuals within the team have been recipients of various awards. In the last four editions of the ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards, the Legal Services Department has won the award for the Capital Markets and Investment In–House Legal Team, while individuals such as Ms. Tinuade Awe (2017, General Counsel of the year), Mrs. Irene Robinson-Ayanwale (2016 Rising Star/40 under 40 award) have received individual awards at the ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards.
