Recovering from the previous session’s loss, the domestic bourse posted gains as the benchmark index rose by 0.42% to close at 56,038.85 points.
Renewed demand for index heavyweight, AIRTELAFRI (+1.96%) alongside ZENITHBANK (+0.18%), and STANBIC (+5.45%) contributed to outweigh losses in GTCO (-0.89%), ACCESSCORP (-0.40%), and FBNH (-0.37%), keeping the market in the green.
As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return rose to 9.34%, while market capitalization gained ₦126.38bn to close at ₦30.51trn.
Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled lower relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions down by 70.64%.
A total of 322.49m shares valued at ₦5.82bn were exchanged in 6,165 deals. UBA (-1.06%) led the volume chart with 47.13m units traded, while AIRTELAFRI (+1.96%) led the value chart in deals worth ₦1.76bn.
Market breadth closed positive at a 1.38-to-1 ratio with advancing issues outnumbering declining ones. ETERNA (+9.85%), topped twenty-one (21) others on the leader’s table, while UACN (-5.08%) led fifteen (15) others on the laggard’s table.
