NDIC Board: FGN Appoints Ex-Lagos Commissioner, AbdulLateef As Chairman

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the appointment of former Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs, AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef, as the Board Chairman of Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC.

President Muhammadu Buhari who gave the approval for the appointment of the ex-commissioner, also approved the appointment of some new members and reappointment of some existing members to the Board.

A statement from the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning said the new appointments and reappointments had become necessary “to avoid vacuum”.

Other new appointees include: Osita Ogbu, Umar Gambo Jibrin, Mohammed Attahiru Haruna, Yasmin Zabath Dalhatu; Simon Ogie, and Abimbola Olashore.

The reappointed members include: Bello Hassan, Managing Director; Mustapha M. Ibrahim, Executive Director Operations; and Emily Osuji, Executive Director Corporate Services.
