NCPC Boss Charges Intending Pilgrims To Pray For Nigeria
The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Tor Uja has charged intending Pilgrims to Israel to pray for God’s intervention over the present economic recession and insurgency bedeviling the Nation. He made the charge during the flag off of the 2016 October – December Pilgrimage in Yola, Adamawa State.
He stated that pilgrimage is not a Jamboree but a period for Spiritual rejuvenation, calling on the Pilgrims to seek the face of God in the Holy Land for divine intervention on the present economic recession and insecurity facing the Country.
The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion and Chairman, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh intimated that the reason for relocating the flag off of the 2016 Pilgrimage to Yola from Abuja was based on Adamawa State Government’s donation towards Pilgrimage in the sponsoring of high number of Pilgrims. His words “it is an event that has always taken place in Abuja, Adamawa is now next to Abuja and so we commend you”.
In his remarks, Gov. Umar Jibrilla who was overwhelmed with the relocation of the flag off to Adamawa State said the decision to sponsor about 1500 Christian Pilgrims to the Holy Land was for them to pray for the State and the Nation to overcome the present challenges facing the Country.
The Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Pilgrim Welfare Board, Bishop Mayo Jinga expressed appreciation to the Governor and the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) for the smooth take off of the Pilgrims.
