‎NCC Hosts Strategic Induction Retreat For New Board Members ‎

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) recently concluded its induction retreat in Uyo in Akwa Ibom State under the chairmanship of Chief Idris Olorunnimbe.

‎The retreat provided an opportunity for the Board to deliberate on Management’s strategic, focuses and reaffirm the Commission’s critical role as a catalyst for Nigeria’s digital economy.

‎The retreat featured distinguished experts as facilitators. These include sessions by Mrs. Yetunde Akinloye, who led a close review of the Nigerian Communications Act (2003); Paul Usoro SAN, who shared reflections on effective board governance and oversight within a national telecommunications regulator; Professor Hyacinth Nwana, who brought an international lens to the role of the regulator and the future of regulation; and Prof. Fabian Ajogwu SAN, who grounded the Board on core corporate governance principles.

‎Participants described the sessions as rigorous and candid, anchored on strong governance, regulatory credibility, and a sharper focus on outcomes for consumers, industry, and Nigeria’s digital economy—matters at the heart of the Commission’s strategic focus.
