Nigerian Copyright Commission has filed amended charge against Construction giant company EL ALAN CONSTRUCTION LTD and one MR. MAHESH SHARMA for being in possession of 5 infringing Auto CAD 218 Standalone License software.
In a one count charge filed before a Federal high court in Lagos, by the Copyright Prosecutors Lynda Alphaeus and Monica Anabor,it was alleged that El Alan construction Limited company and one Mr.Mahesh Sharma both of number 9 Macgregor,Road Ikoyi,Lagos State on or about the 26th day of September, 2022, within the Judicial division of this Honourable Court, did have in thier possession for the purpose of trade and business, 5 infringing AutoCAD 2018 Standalone License Suite Software in which copyright subsists in favour of Ideate Technologies Nigeria Limited (Trading as Worldview Technologies), contrary to and punishable under the provisions of Section 20 (2) (c) of the Copyright Act Cap C28 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
The court has fixed 22nd, of September 2023, when the plea of El Alan construction Ltd company and Mr. MAHESH SHARMA will be taken.
