NAOWA Reaffirms Commitment To Barracks Welfare

…donates food items to soldiers’ wives, widows

 

The Guards Brigade, Aguiyi Ironsi Sports Complex Asokoro, Abuja, was filled with warmth and goodwill as the President of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu, distributed food items to over 1,500 beneficiaries, including members of the Nigerian Army Soldiers Wives Association (NASWA) and widows of fallen heroes and the Military Officers Widows Association (MIOWA).

The humanitarian outreach, held on 20th December 2025, formed part of NAOWA’s End-of-Year activities aimed at supporting members of the barracks community, especially during the festive season.

In her remarks, Mrs Shaibu described the outreach as a practical demonstration of NAOWA’s compassion, solidarity and unwavering commitment to the welfare of Army families.

She noted that the gathering also fostered unity, love for and togetherness in the spirit of Christmas.

She commended NAOWA and NASWA members for their resilience and sacrifices on the home front, while encouraging peace, harmony, savings and investment within families.

President NAOWA remains steadfast in her mission to promote welfare, empowerment and sustainable support for Nigerian Army families.

NAOWA’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs David- Adejoh, Mercy added that the event featured the distribution of food items.
