“My Doors Are Opened For New Ideas – Gen Fejokwu Assures PSOs, Commanders

As a result of the sweeping appointments and redeployment of senior army officers recently which affected the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 81 Division Nigerian Army, the new GOC, Maj Gen Lawrence Fejokwu has taken over responsibilities of the Division.

He took over from Maj Gen Godwin Umelo as the 30th General Officer Commanding (GOC) on Friday at the Headquarters 81 Division Conference Room.

During the handing and taking over ceremony, in his remarks, the new GOC thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru for the opportunity given to serve the Nigerian Army in a higher capacity.

Also he assured Commanders and Principal Staff Officers that his doors are opened for new ideas on how to move the Division forward.

Maj Gen Fejokwu until his recent appointment was once a Directing Staff at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College and National Defence College respectively.

His last appointment was Director Personnel Services at the Department of Administration Army Headquarters, Abuja.

Highlights of the ceremony included the signing of handing and taking over notes, decoration of the the new GOC with the Division insignia and hand over of the Division flag which mark’s the symbol of authority.

The event was witnessed by some Senior officers from various units and commands of the Nigerian Army , including, the Corps Commander, Nigerian Army Education, Major General Muktar Bunza, and the Commander, 9 Brigade, Brigadier General Sali Kawugana.
