The Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche JP, has commended the Lagos Chapter, Council of Knights, Methodist Church Nigeria, on its dogged continued relentless spiritual invigoration, especially, on its Annual Choral Evening Concert, the fourth in the series, to enhance the beauty of Methodist Songs, coupled with its Hymnal Evangelical spread, to the universe.
He made these remarks at the Fourth Edition of the 2017 Choral Evening of Methodist Church Nigeria Songs Thanksgiving and Concert by the Lagos Chapter, Council of Knights, at the Methodist Church Nigeria Diocese of Lagos Central Cathedral, Ebutte-Metta West, Yaba, Lagos.
Quoting from several Biblical injunctions at the event, Dr. Uche, reiterated the essence of promoting man’s worthy relationship with God at all times, to duly appreciate him and elate his profound gratitude, love, mutuality, transparency with peace and kindness among both, principally, in the areas of preaching his Gospel, in Prayers and also, with his continued Praise to genuinely elate God’s loving kindness and peace which he stressed, were the three cardinal essence of man’s existence and bossom intimacy with God.
To this end, the Methodist Church Nigeria Prelate therefore charged the Council of Knights, the Methodists and the entire Christians, to be functional, dutiful Light Bearers of Christ in their exemplary callings and philanthropic spiritual and tireless contributions, such as the Choral Evening Concert and other meaningful and gainful worthy areas to heartily win souls to Christ, as well as being emulative role model, to expand Methodist Church and to also contribute effectively to improve the Society and by extension, Nigeria.
Concluding, the Prelate expressed His and the Church profound gratitude to the Organizers of the Annual Event and promised his continued tireless support and optimal cooperation in that regard.
It will be recalled that the maiden edition was held in 2014 at the Hoare’s Memorial Methodist Church Cathedral, Yaba, Lagos and closely followed at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Trinity Council, Tinubu Lagos in 2015, while the Wesley Cathedral Olowogbowo, Lagos, hosted its 2016 Edition, before the current 2017, which was held at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Ago Ijaiye Cathedral of the Diocese of the Lagos Central, Off Apapa Road, Ebutte-Metta West, Lagos.
The event was presided over by the Prelate, His Eminence, Dr Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche JP, accompanied by his wife, Sis. Florence Nneoma Uche, the Secretary of the Conference, Bishop Michael Olusegun Akinwale, Arch bishop of Lagos, Most Reverend Luke Olukayode Odubanjo, Bishop Diocese of Ereko Rt. Rev. Olukayode Adeogun, the Host Bishop of the Diocese hosting the Event, other Circuit Presbyters and Religious Faithfuls, who were very well hosted by the Chairman, Council of Knights Lagos Chapter, Dame Professor Ajesola Majekodunmi KJW, The Vice Chairman, Sir Otunba Bola Onabadejo KJW, the Secretary, Dame Adetope Tychus and the Social/Publicity Secretary, Sir Abimbola Carzim KJW.
The Event was very well attended by very Eminent, Distinguished Guests, Prominent among who was the former Honorable Federal Minister of Aviation, Air Vice Marshal Anthony Okpere and others, duly recognized with profound appreciation by the Prelate and the Organizers of the laudable auspicious occasion, that treated the distinguished Guests to very prominent melodious lyrics and Methodist Songs. by Choristers across the Archdiocese of Lagos, under the supervision of a Musical Legend, Sir Victor Johnson KCW, The Concert Master, duly supported by Sir Kunle Oyedipe KCW, Sir Tosin Olaniyan KCW among others.
