Major General Aligbe Takes Over Command Of TRADOC

…task officers, soldiers to brace up for the task ahead

The newly appointed Commander, Nigerian Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Minna, Major General Kelvin Aligbe has taken over as the 44th Commander, tasking officers and soldiers to brace up for the task ahead.

While thanking the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major General Taoreed Lagbaja for finding him worthy to be appointed, he pledged to sustain the legacies of his predecessor by ensuring that no stone was left unturned in achieving greater heights.

General Aligbe applauded his predecessor for his impactful tour of duty, describing him as a dedicated infantry officer whose legacies would remain as reference point for those coming behind.

During the handing and taking over which took place on Thursday day, 29th June 2023, General Aligbe urged officers of the command to brace up for more work which cannot be accomplished without tremendous support from them.

In his valedictory remarks, Major General SO Olabanji urged personnel to extend the same gesture to his successor, reiterating that his service to the NA has been a glorious and blessed one which led to his attainment of the enviable rank of Major General before his retirement.

With a sense of fulfilment, General Olabanji described the new Commander as “a thorough bred senior officer who has held both Instructional, Command and Staff appointments across units and formations of the NA.”

He later decorated the new Commander with TRADOC insignia and other military accoutrements as well as exchange of flags and hoisting of the new one.

Before his appointment, General Aligbe was a Senior Research Fellow at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja as well as Commander JTF Op WHIRL STROKE Makurdi. He took over from Major General Stevenson Olabanji who is retiring after his meritorious service to the Nation.
