Link To Bandits: Go Beyond Press Statement To Clear Your Name, Niger APC Chieftain Tells Former Head Of State, Gen. Abdulsalami

…Support ACF Calls For Full Investigation
A Frontline member of the ruling All Progressive Congress( APC) in Niger State, Mr. Jonathan Tsado Vatsa has dismissed reports linking a former Military Head of State,General Abdulsalam A. Abubakar to an Helicopter allegedly supplying food items and lethal weapons to armed bandits laying siege on some communities and attacking the people in parts of Niger State in recent times while describing such reports from some quarters in the state  as not only unfortunate, but but wicked.
Vatsa,an erstwhile Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism in the State stated this on Thursday in Minna, the state capital in an interactive session with the newsmen, adding, that Gen Abdulsalami  not to limit himself to a mere Press statement to exonerate himself from the said online report in the Social Media, saying, that “the former Nigerian Leader should  “rather address the people of the state and put the records straight in order to clear himself of this very weighty  allegation”.
Vatsa, also a former Spokesman of APC in the State’s chapter of the party while dismissing the report, expressed surprise that barely one year after this rumour has been making the round , that nobody has been able to show the public the image of the alleged crashed  helicopter, stressing that “we would have loved to see the image of the helicopter.
He said, “his rumor is over one year now that a helicopter belonging to the former head of state, supplying food and weapons was brought down by the villagers through “black power” but up till now body has shown us the picture or the crash site”,
The APC Chieftain in Niger State  who also doubles as a Cousin to the late Major General Mamman Vatsa and Coordinator on Public Affairs to incumbent Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State however threw his weight behind the call by a Northern Socio- Cultural  group, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) for a full investigations into the report, with the view  to unravel the mystery behind the helicopter saga by the Security agencies .
He pointed out that every patriotic and well meaning Nigerians should support every efforts that will bring the security situation in the country to under control, hilighting  that “we must join hands to address this security situation before it consume all of us”.
According to him, linking the former Head of State to helicopter supplying weapons and food items  to armed bandits  in the State without any physical evidence was a mere distraction from the reality on ground, adding that ” I think the security agents have what it takes to do a thorough investigation into the matter and let Nigerians know the through situation”.
He thereby commended the Military  and other security agencies for the ongoing Military Operations and reconnaissance  in the forests across the state which he said, is beginning to yield some positive results leading to the return of some Internally Displaced Persons  (IDPs) to their ancestral homes in parts of the state.
