League Of Character Clubs Gospel Songs Competition Light Up Bayelsa

…As Students Render Praises To God In Grand Style…Treasure Jireh School Clinches Trophy

Secondary schools Students in Bayelsa have lauded an organization, the League of Character Clubs International (LCCI) for its passion in organizing events aimed at talent discovery amongst youths in the state.

Speaking with newsmen in Igbogene town, Yenagoa, the State capital on Thursday at the maiden edition of the Character(Engr.) Izibaye Sorgwe Christian songs competition amongst selected Government and Private Secondary Schools in the State, the duo of Miss Oluche Kennedy Fruitful, a student of Treasure Jireh International School, Igbogene and Miss Nwachukwu Melody Onyinyechi of Ebivico Early Foundation School on behalf of participating students praised the LCCI for the feat it has achieved over the years.

They said the event has further showcased how talents can be used to serve God while also empowering individuals, noting that gospel music is not only a profitable career, but also a means of worshipping and praising God for more of his blessings and favour upon humans.

National Wire learnt that the League of Character Clubs International, organizers of the event has affiliation with the International age of Character Clubs of the University of Science and Philosophy, Swannanoa, Waynesboro, Virginia, United States of America.

Earlier in his opening remarks, President General of the LCCI, Character, High Chief(Dr) Christian Kokoriko said the reason for organizing the event was because his organization is passionate about discovering hidden talents and potentials in youths.

He said apart from the annual Christian songs competition which he noted has been instituted by the LCCI to honour Character(Engr.) Sorgwe, Director of Treasure Jireh International School, the organization prior to the event has been involved in annual sporting activities in both Rivers and Bayelsa States.

Character (Dr) Kokoriko said: “Without God in your life all your labour is in vain. In all you do as a person you must first reverence God. He is the giver and taker of life. He is the One who has given you all your talents, potentials and more.

“The essence of the Christian songs competition amongst Secondary Schools in Bayelsa State is to honour and praise God and also to discover musical talents amongst our Children and students.

“It will be an annual event. It’s instituted by the League of Character Clubs International to honour the good works of Character(Engr) Izibaye Sorgwe, Director of Treasure Jireh International School, Igbogene who is one of the patrons of the LCCI”.

In his remarks, host of the programme and Director, Treasure Jireh International School, Character (Engr) Izibaye Sorgwe, thanked various Schools for honouring the invitation to participate in the event.

He also expressed his appreciation to the LCCI President General for finding him and his school worthy to host the first edition of the competition,
describing Christian songs as symbolic for praising God for His good works in human lives, while also restating that through the annual competition talents will be discovered and adequately harnessed for productive purposes and that students of secondary schools in and around the state have several untapped potentials.

Highpoints of the event was the presentation of a trophy and cash gifts to the winners, Treasure Jireh International School, Igbogene, cash gifts to the first runner up, Ebivico early foundations Schools and other consolation prizes to outstanding participating students.
