Lagos Police Command Condemns Attack On Labour Party Supporters, Commences Investigation

The Lagos State Police Command has commenced investigations into circumstances surrounding attacks on Labour Party supporters who were on their way to a rally at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos on Saturday, 11th February, 2023.

During the attacks witnessed in some part of Lagos including Jakande, Adeniji Adele along 3rd Mainland Bridge, four persons were injured and were taken for medical treatment and are responding to treatment.

The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has taken over investigations into the incident from Ilasan Division which had earlier commenced preliminary investigations.

The Lagos State Police Command strongly condemns the attack and advised all political leaders to prevail on their followers to be law abiding and shun violence adding that the Command would leave no stone unturned to deal decisively with offenders in accordance with the law according to SP Benjamin Hundeyin in a statement.
