Lagos CP Seeks Support For Welfare/Juvenile

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Edgal Imohimi on Wednesday, October 18,2017 appealed to the UNICEF Child Protection Center for more support for Gender/juvenile welfare.

The Commissioner of Police who was represented by DCP Bolaji Salami of the State Criminal Intelligence Investigation Department (SCIID) made the appeal while receiving Air Conditioners and other office equipments donated to the Gender/juvenile welfare units at te conference hall of the Lagos State Police Headquarters, Ikeja.

The equipments which were donated by UNICEF in collaboration with the Lagos state police command and Office of the Public Defender consists of Air conditioners, Ceiling Fan, Standing Fan and other office equipments.

Imohimi further appreciated the gesture by UNICEF and assured the representatives that the equipments will be adequately utilized. After 4 kings casino and slots cheats exhausting its allotted permits, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory has asked the TVA to issue additional ones.

“We appreciate your gesture towards the welfare of juvenile and we assure you that the items will be used for its purpose. In line with taking care of juveniles, we need a center where the children can stay for a while before taken down to special homes. Mrs Rocio Aznar, a Child Protection Specialist who represented UNICEF, while presenting the items commended the Lagos State Police Command for being in the forefront of the campaign against violence in children.

“We appreciate the commitment of the police and their support for the victims of violence. We have observed its high prevalence and in the fore front of the campaign to stop this is the Lagos State Police Command.This prompted our support with some equipments as we appreciate the campaign. People with minor offences should however be taken to juveniles centers instead of being mixed up with hardened criminals.

“We are here to support the Government of Nigeria and urge other MDAs to provide more support in managing victims of violence.” she said.
