Lagos commuters complain filthy buses, proposed fee hike

While some commuters in the Lagos metropolis have appealed to the Lagos State government to reconsider its plan to increase bus fares of the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) and Lagos Buses (LAGBUS) by 1st March, other commuters have called on the state government to ensure neatness of the buses at all times especially the LAGBUSES.

Lamenting the poor state of some of the buses around the Lagos metropolis, a commuter who simply identified herself as Omotoyosi explained to National Wire the dirty nature of the interiors of some of the buses in the fleet of the red bus on the Ishaga-Agege route.

“A number of the buses are so dirty. No waste bins and commuters just drop dirt indiscriminately in the buses,” Omotoyosi said, continuing that, “If care is not taken you may get in neat and exit dirty, it’s sad how some of these buses are turning to the old Molue buses.”

Concerned commuters however appealed to the Lagos State government to suspend the proposed hike in bus fares at a time economic recession is biting hard.
