La Liga resumes June 8

After the Bundeslinga successfully re-started a week ago following several weeks of lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, La Liga, the Spanish football has been given the green light to re-start as from June 8.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced on Saturday in an address to the nation explained that football will be one of activities that will resume June 8 in the country.

“Spain has done what it should and now new horizons are opening for everyone. The time has come to recover many of the daily activities. From June 8 La Liga will return,” said Sanchez.

Spanish La Liga is a major league in Europe with millions of soccer fans and enthusiasts.

La Liga was suspended in March this year after the coronavirus outbreak was declared a pandemic by the World Health Oorgsnisation (WHO) and positive cases spiked dramatically in Spain.

However, the league will now be back next month after the country lifted certain restrictions in the lockdown with the curve flattening. Tourism industries are expected to come on around July, 2020.
