Kudos, Knocks As Police Help Woman With Loads

Social media users have commended the men of Nigeria Police who helped a woman rearrange bunches of palm fruits that fell off her motorcycle on the way from farm, in a viral Facebook post.

The post, by a lecturer with Michael Okpara University of Agriculture in Abia State, Uchenna Onyeizu, which has, as at press time, elicited over 3,000 Facebook comments and about 4,500 shares since it was posted Tuesday morning, has also been written off by many as a publicity stunt by the Force.

According to Onyeizu, the men of the Mobile Police Force, with one other man in plain cloth, stopped on the way along Okeiyi-Umuokahia II Road in Obingwa Local Government of the state, to help the woman while Onyeizu drove behind them before he also paused and “smartly took” the pictures.

“Really, we still have some men in uniform rendering unnoticed services to humanity. God bless you guys with promotions and good things of life!!!” he wrote.

“I celebrate and thank God, for such good deed, coming from our policemen. I pray that a day will come, when most of our policemen, will truly be our friends,” commented Israel Chima.
A commenter, Prince Leonard, said the appearance of the men showed their humane nature and should be capable of rendering such assistance, adding “u (you) will know that they are the educated ones not the ones that don’t even ave(have) ordinary SSCE does(those) are the ones giving problems because they don’t remember what they taught them in college.”

Agiande Fred, however, cynically retorted: “Good, if I may ask, why is this so much of a big deal when its (it’s) naturally sopoze (supposed) to be a normal thing. This is like a case of celebrating a sixteen year old girl for being a virgin, what was she sopoze (supposed) to be at sixteen if not a virgin? I just asked and someone will understand.”

This is as MaDe Will DeRek said cheekily: “You lied the picture was a plan (ed)work you guys are together.”

Towing the same line, Festus Eghaghe said “Abegi….theres nothing good about the police,” reasoning that anybody would have willingly given the woman a helping hand in her helpless situation.

“Don’t praise the police they deserve no form of accolade. Just this morning here in Lagos, you need to see how they poured a poor girl’s moimoi she was hawking simply becos (because) she didn’t see thier barricade and mistakenly stepped into it,” he added.
