Not fewer than two hundred Nigerian yesterday were awarded scholarships to study in Iscom University, Cotonou, Benin Republic by Kez global educational scholarship in Yenaoa, Bayelsa State.
Awarding the second beneficiaries of the scholarship scheme, the coordinator Kez educational foundation, Hon. James Jonah advised the awardees to remain focused and resolute in their studies while in Benin Republic, stressing that the prerequisite for remaining under the scheme is excellent academic performance in high grades.
Speaking on the topic, “Motivation” a guest speaker at the award ceremony, Dr. Mrs Justina Zalakoro maintained that the hallmark of students, children career choices is parental motivation and proper counseling. The university don emphasized that parents should not force their children to choose disciplines not compatible for them.
Relaying their experiences, the duo of Mr. Lagumo Atigburuze Sunday, who is adjudge the oldest scholarship beneficiary and Miss Rachael Patrick in separate speeches entitled, “My Iscom my destiny repairer” and “My Iscom my land of hope” respectively described Kez benevolence and philanthropy as uncommon in the anals of education scholarships in Nigeria.
Meanwhile the paramount ruler of Ikainbiri community, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, HRH Dr. Tony Zalakoro has called on beneficiaries of the second phase of the Kez scholarship to keep the flag flying.
The monarch made this clarion call while speaking with newsmen shortly after the event, stressing that available records show that Kez foundation have paid over a Hundred Million Naira (N1m) as counterpart fund to Iscom university in the last two years for beneficiaries.
