A hideout of suspected criminals has been uncovered in Bayelsa State.
According to Channelstv.com, the Joint Task Force code-named “Operation Delta Safe” uncovered the hideout around Biogbolo Secondary School in Yenagoa, the state capital.
During search, the Joint Task Force uncovered Improvised Explosive Device (IED) set with the intention of setting it off which device was diffused by the troops.
In a statement signed by the Coordinator of the Joint Media Campaign Centre, Lieutenant Olaolu Daudu, the troops of the ‘Operation Delta Safe’ have successfully dislodged a suspected unrepentant militants/sea robbers camp extension at Isunkiri in Bayelsa State.
According to the report, items recovered from the militants include two laptops, one plasma television, a DVD player, two saw blades, four Motorola hand held radios, two R2 GMDS radios, four mobile phones, five radio chargers, five motorola batteries and a foreign ATM card.
Some other items recovered include two sim cards, a civil helmet, a pair of firefighting uniform, a GMI radio, four pairs of Swire pacific offshore overall uniform, two boxes of drugs, two foreign passports, one ladder, one blue colour speed boat mounted with 115 Horse power with one 75 Horse power engine, light blue coloured fibre, documents/identity cards belonging to one Mr. Roberto Bacariza Jr (a Philippino).
However, some arrests were also made through a tip off. The arrested individuals include Mr. Kelly Ikurusi, Mr. Dokubo Erempagamo, Mr. Orifie Borto and Mr. George Friday alias Yellow 1.
