Journalists Mourn Late Colleague, Gbenga Davies

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council on Wednesday, August 14,2019 trooped out to pay their last respect  and  bid farewell to their late colleague, Gbenga Davies, who died last Saturday,, August 9,2019 at the age of 46 years.

The Lying -in State which took place at the Iwe- Iroyin hall, NUJ Secretariat, Abeokuta was conducted by the Council in conjunction with the family and friends.

The Pastor of Christ The Pillar Of Salvation Ministry, Inc, Apostle David Efe  while speaking at the Service of Songs, urged everyone to remember the last day, adding that, the deceased was of many part and had done his own bit on earth.

The cleric  in his sermon, titled “One Day”, noted  that human beings came to the world with nothing and shall go back with nothing,

” Though some came with multiple virtues which is spiritual gifts, yet one will definitely go back to where we come from.

“There is one thing one came with, when coming go the Earth and that is the return ticket, that return ticket cannot be collected, no matter who the person is, even the Devil cannot collect it. Our return ticket is necessary and one day It will expire.

‘One day, what we are doing now, it will be your turn. Even prayers that one won’t die are a lie, you will die, it is only that God promised is long life and satisfaction. Our brother has gone to rest and one day it will be our turn, whether we like it or not”.  Apostle Efe preached.

The event was rounded off with prayers  for family of the late journalist, and thereafter committed to the mother earth at Kobape cemetery located along Sagamu-Abeokuta Expressway, in Ogun State

Dignitaries present at the event include; the Chief Press Secretary to Ogun State Governor, Mr. Kunle Somorin, Special Adviser to former Ogun State Governor, Mr. Yemi Sodimu, Soji Akin- Bankole, Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, Founder, Penpushing Media, Seun Davies (General Manager, Smash FM, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Victor Odunsi and  Lanre Dasaolu.
