I’ve chosen to maintain standing family relationship with Atiku, Buhari-Alhassan

The last has not been heard about the recent visit of Sen. Aisha Alhassan, Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development’s visit to the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Alhassan on Wednesday referred to those criticizing her visit to former number two man as being “mischievous,” reiterating her decision to maintain a long standing relationship

The minister has been alleged to have used her Sallah visit to Atiku in Yola as a support strategy for the latter’s 2019 Presidential ambition.

Nigerians are however insinuating a disloyalty to the current President’s possible 2019 ambition which she has debunked.

According to Alhassan, Abubakar Atiku had been her political mentor over the years and was still a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), adding that her loyalty to Buhari and his administration, which she serves as a minister, was “unshakable.”

Alhassan has however attributed the misinterpretation of her visit to the former Vice President to activities of political detractors who are ever afraid of her political strength in her home Taraba State.

“In a nation where politicians are quick to dump the people that assisted them to get to where they are, for political expediency, I have chosen to maintain a long standing family relationship with Abubakar, as well as Buhari, who I consider as a father.

“Besides, neither Buhari nor Abubakar has officially told anyone of an interest in seeking election in 2019,” she said.

Commentators have continued to read meanings to what they see as the Minister’s obvious support for Atiku, the action many feel may cost her the Ministerial post she is currently holding should in case a cabinet shake-up happens.
